How do I setup parent & child projects?

This article covers the following:

When projects are added on PPO, they can either stand-alone or be linked to a parent project. The Parent Project field is a project list type field, that shows all the currently visible projects on the Project List page.

If you want to link a project to a parent project (creating a Child) or link a project to itself (creating a Parent) you would simply access the specific project from the Project List, update the project and select the parent project from the Parent Project list field.

Setting up your Parent Project

To create a Parent Project one simply needs to edit the project and link the Parent Project to itself using the Parent Project list field:

Each Child Project can be edited to reflect its Parent Project by updating the Parent Project list field to the correct parent.

Reporting

Both Parent and Child projects are stand-alone projects that can be reported on individually with your standard Project Status Dashboard. For more information on running your Project Status Dashboard see the following knowledge base article.

Reporting on both your Parent and Child projects together requires the use of the Parent Project Dashboard. For more information on running your Parent Project Dashboard see the following knowledge base article.
