Link to "Saved" Customised View

Hi team,

I recently wanted to provide a view in a report that would allow us to navigate directly to a set view in a list. 

in my example, i was using the report shown in the image below:

 

This report allows us a great summary of the resources allocated to a project, and the amount of demand on a month by month basis, the aim of this view is to allow us to review allocations live in a meeting and make changes where needed during the meeting. unfortunately there is no smooth transition between this view and the resource allocations page. In my original ticket i asked whether we could create a link on the name of the resource to be taken to their allocations in the resource allocation entity; I've however been told that the functionality does not allow for this at this time.

It would be great if there was a way in which the list views could be accessed immediately via a link with all the filters already applied, this would allow linking to specific list views in the tool much more streamlined as you could send a user a specific view for them to review and instantly see the same view.

  We are currently considering an idea for "Saved Views". How we see this working is that you would customise your table (what you call a list above) with the columns you want, the order you want them, the sort order of the fields and the filters and then you could save that view. Then as opposed to going to, for example, a project list and having to reorder and apply a filter, your saved view would be in the way you want it. 

  The reasons we are considering this is sometimes you are looking at the data from a specific perspective and have sorted it, filtered it and have specific fields for that perspective (example, managing governance and data quality of active projects) and then you're looking at it from a different perspective (example, all proposed and onhold projects, to do some portfolio planning) and having the different "saved views" would assist with this.

  If we had this feature then you would be able to go to the saved view of your table (aka list). Would this resolve your problem?

  that sounds like it makes a lot of sense and would likely satisfy the type of functionality id be looking to achieve.

  do you see it being usable in a report where you could use information in the view to dictate what would then appear when taken to the list view? for example, if you're on a risks report and click on a project name it could take you to a risks table already filtered to that project.

  We haven't considered who it would work with reports and dashboards yet please will keep this in mind.
