Availability of Free Text fields - Power BI reporting

Hello Team, 

I have currently created a Power BI report, that provides an overview of the overall Portfolio status, Project Status, Risks, Issues and others. 

Post my demo with the senior leadership team within Aon, I have had a request to view additional information of the status that's recorded within the Health Indicator tables. I understand that due to the fact that these are free text fields and no character limit in place, you have restricted considering the size of the dataset. 

Suggestions from me: 

Is it possible to then restrict the characters to 250 or allowing the user the choice of including free text fields in export settings within the BI API

  Thanks alot for your idea. We have been discussing this internally. Currently free text fields are not supported by the BI API due to the sheer size of data that users might download, without ever needing it. We have another idea that we are working to set a limit on the front-end for a the maximum length of a free text field (as per your recommendation above). This would allow the administrators to set a limit for free text fields for things like "Project Status Update" and by doing that we would then be able to support these free text fields on the BI API.

  Thanks for the update, we have the item on our Pipeline but haven't put into a sprint yet. As soon as it moves we will update this item to Planned and you can follow it then. Apologies for the delay.

  Ramya, we have completed the development of this item and have deployed it to a select set of BETA clients. Based on the feedback of this, it (we hope) will be deployed to all clients soon.

  Ramya,

  The PPO BI API now includes all free text fields. Please note they are limited to the first 2500 characters and include any of the markdown formatting that users have applied to these fields.
