Bulk update of records

There are numerous use cases where it is necessary to update a single field to a new value for a large number of records. Some examples:

1) A staff member leaves or gets moved to a new position. This person is associated with a large number of records in PPO, for example as an approver on approvals, as the "Assigned to" on issues, as the "Responsible" person on tasks, as the "Manager" on projects, etc.
2) When a project is completed, all existing issues need to be marked as closed or tasks need to be marked as 100% complete.
3) All items associated with one project needs to be moved to another project.

Functionality that would allow for a specific field to be updated to a specific value for a subset of records would address the above use cases. Note that in the case of 3 above, PPO explicitly allows for items to be moved to another project but the bulk update functionality would make this easier.

  It would be absolutely fantastic if we are allowed to do bulk changes of fields.  

  This will really make our life at Sanlam a LOT better as it is a very frustrating point.  

  Employee records and requests are a BIG thing we need to be able to update fields on in bulk. 

  Example:

  A person left Sanlam and we need to update all the requests where he / she is the responsible Person or Requester

  Requests are added in a release and now after prioritisation from the 380 only 120 can be done, so the rest needs to be removed from that release

  We are cleaning up data and 200 requests needs to be marked inactive so we need to update the status as well as the active tick together  with a reason why it is withdrawn if they are withdrawn

  Structural changes happens and employees moves from one department to another from line manager or structure.  Need to update cost centre, department, line manager etc.  

  VERY time consuming to to it one by one by one!
