Costs - Allow bulk load / edit of Cost records

It would be useful to be able to have a bulk upload function for Costs section in PPO.  This could perhaps work in the same manner as the “Import Tasks” functionality.  To have an “Import Costs” button on the Project >> View page and the Cost >> List page like the “Import Tasks” icon.

Could possibly allow for a bulk upload / edit over multiple projects, because there is normally one finance person who will be tasked with keeping the costs for multiple projects updated.

I think this function would greatly increase the usability of PPO and will be a great value add for our clients.

  Hi Lindi, please note that we will be releasing the following functionality soon, whereby you will be able, when using the multiple edit pages for the entities, to copy the line from your previous record. This will save you a lot of time and also partially address your requirement for doing bulk loading of records.

  Hi Linda,

  This is an excellent idea. Mia can you give an expected date for release as it's extremely time consuming to have to load costs individually so a bulk load from Excel would be extremely useful.

  Dear Conor,

  Thank you for your reply. The copy functionality, as mentioned above, is already available, please refer to the following KB Article. This will also save you some time with bulk loading. With regards to the date of release for the cost bulk loading, we can unfortunately not provide that as we internally have a pipeline we manage and a roadmap of items that are in the process of being developed and items that will be developed.

  Hello Mia,

  The multiple edit option is a great feature that is now available within PPO - thanks development team!

  There is however still the need for a bulk import of financial information that is normally stored within another financial system and the need is to import the financial figures into PPO with a bulk import. The API for integration is an option, but this is not always feasible for all clients. And some of the clients rework the financial information in Excel into a specific format and then want to use the Excel version's data to reflect on projects.

  Is there still an item on the development road map for the bulk import of cost/financial records from Excel post the release of the multiple edit functionality?

  Hi,

  Is there any update to allowing bulk uploads of Cost/Revenue line items?

  It is very tediuous adding this in manually and there really should be the option to use an excel or csv template to load in a project cost/revenue budget. 

  I raised this in May and I was wondering has there been any developments?

  I seet his idea is relatively old but I am commenting as per your request Lindi to keep the requirement we have 'together' with this one.  We would like to have the ability to import actions, risks, issues from an excel spreadsheet into PPO.  Hope this is something that can be looked at....  thank you.
