Capturing dates without using the date field

It would be great if one could manually (without the date field) capture or cut / paste dates. This date should also still be validated as a valid date at point of entry.

  As part of a PPO implementation at a client, the PM's raised the need to be able to change the date field manually too and not only by selecting the date from the calendar control.

  Can this please be look into?

  Hi PPO, this will help a lot and make adding or updating records much quicker especially with multiple edit. Please consider adding this functionality.

  I take my hat off to the programmer who manages to achieve this without creating an even more onerous input form.
