Refresh drop-down lists once values are added

The Frustrating Issue Is: If I would like to Add a new Risk etc, and would like to assign a resource and the resource is not yet loaded to the instance there is NO option to add this resource without loosing all the info and start all over again.

What I do is: While in the Risk window, I right click on the Employees Tab on to and choose Open Link in new Window  , to Add the Resource, after the resource is added and I return to the open Risk Window I must refresh that page for the new resource to appear in the drop-down list, but then I loose all the Information I Typed for that Risk.

  Hi Rick,

  The issue you've mentioned is a browser issue, rather than a PPO issue. The frustration can be alleviated by using Mozilla Firefox.

  Firefox allows you to refresh the page WITHOUT losing any of the data! You can thus add your resource in a second window, refresh the open risk, not lose anything and continue inputting your information.

  Please give that a try.

  No its not working, as Firefox is not a Company Standard.

  Technically this is fairly difficult to do although there are some exciting new changes in HTML 5 called server-sent events  which could provide a solution (this is however not part of the formal standard yet). We will however look into alternative solutions in the mean time.

  The solution implemented by Firefox works well in most cases, but unfortunately this is not something supported by all browsers.

  We are happy to inform you that your request has been addressed by means of the new and improved searchable drop-down lists. When adding your risk and noticing the employee is not on the employee drop-down list, simply open another tab like you previously did, enter the employee information, and when returning back to the Risk Add page, simply open the employee list, by clicking on the drop down arrow and you will instantly see the employees name on the list, so you will never have to refresh the page.

  The reason you don't need to refresh the page, is because the new drop-down lists are dynamically populated in the background.  What this means is that when the page is originally 'rendered', the list does not contain any items (which improves page load time).  As soon as you drop down the list by clicking on the down arrow, the first 100 items are retrieved in real-time from our servers.
