As per Task section where you can upload an MS Project File with an Upload Wizard, would it be possible to include an Upload Wizard for Risks, Issues and Lessons Learned, etc by uploading a MS Excel file (Template) to populate the Risks, Issues and Lessons Learned logs.
This will assist the Project Admins that must manual copy and paste the data from Excel to PPO after the Project Risks, Issues and Lessons Learned logs are received.
The ability to upload data through the front-end is something which we may consider for a future release. This is usually only a requirement during the initial implementation phase. If you have a large amount of data to upload, please contact the support desk who will be able to assist.
Another alternative, is to use the built-in API to bulk load data.
For SABMiller, this is really needed for financials, as currently users are having to manually maintain the information in two places. High priority from a business viewpoint.

Having the option, to upload (create) 'a number' of projects (ideas) from a pre-populated (list drop-down) Excel Template, will greatly, help to reduce my project 'administration' burden. Equally - having the same upload option - to maintain (update) my projects in bulk, will greatly assist (me) project managers.
This 'offline' capability - will greatly make my job more efficient, help address, my current network/poor connectivity challenges (especially when working on projects off-site) and help to ensure that the central PPO Project Data/integrity is frequently updated...
Realistically - 'excel' version of project management exists (and will remain)... By PPO, providing a 'complimentary' solution - that co-exists - will create a 'win-win'. A win for the PPO user (project manager), A win for creating an 'agile/complimentary' solution, a win for 'work efficiency/productivity', a 'win for PPO' - 'user buy-in and adoption' to the product / solution offering..., a win for PPO remaining as the 'central' project repository (nerve centre) and a win for more 'timely and frequent' project updates - where project updates is kept 'living' and no longer is a cumbersome process! :)

Being able to insert and or amend projects directly from an Excel spreadsheet will save a lot of time as Excel lends itself nicely to updating of multiple records easily.

The ability to upload New Project or to edit work plan data via an Excel template will greatly assist the team by reducing the amount administrative time for each person requires to capture individual entries.
Updates can also be be better managed upfront before being uploaded into PPO to ensure the correct standards are being adhered to .Retrospective updates directly in PPO can be difficult with regards to formatting and wording changes.
The upload also provides an interim area that keeps us current on the latest changes in PPO in the event that PPO is not available or if a user cannot access PPO (When working offsite) .
This would be a great tool for reducing the amount time spent on admin.

The ability to update multiple projects through the use of an Excel based template would greatly reduce the administrative overhead associated with the maintenance of projects and go a long way to improving efficiency and productivity of our Project Managers. A common complaint we receive from our Project Managers and Administrators relates to the effort required in the maintenance of project details/ status/ financials/ etc. in PPO. The use of upload tool will go a long way in addressing this and assisting in improving the accuracy of our project portfolio and to improve the adoption of the system within our organisation.

It would be good and necessary for such system to have MS Excel upload functionality for business cases and other financial calculations. Uploading this manually for a multi-country, multi-year project manually is a waste of time&money for the clients and also creates unnecessary double work and creates lots of opportunities for errors.
I'd like PPO to provide this Upload capability as soon as possible.
