Global notifications are a way for us, the software vendor, to communicate important announcements to the PPO user base.
Typical examples of these notifications include:
- Notifying users of critical events e.g “Please note that scheduled maintenance will take place this coming Friday @ 12:00. During this time PPO will be unavailable.”
- Notifying users of new features e.g. “Did you know that you are now able to link to an external document from PPO. Click on the link to learn more.”
- Informational notifications e.g. “Want to learn about project management best practices?”

Additional considerations for global notifications
Q: What would happen if both global and instance-specific notifications are active on the same instance? Is there an order of precedence?
A: The order of precedence is firstly by type. The order is first Critical, then New Feature and then Informational and then lastly by expiry date. Critical global notifications will therefore always be shown first.
